![]() ![]() The Vulcain engine operates for just under 10 minutes before it shutdowns. This element, called JAVE from its name in French "Jupe AVant Equipée", is a major structure of the launcher as it transmits thrust from the two solid boosters to the launcher in order to lift the fully loaded EPC. Innovative technology and extremely precise welding machines are needed to produce them.Īt the base of the EPC is the Vulcain engine which transmits thrust to the launcher through the aft ‘skirt’, while at its summit is a forward ‘skirt’ linking the main stage to the launcher’s upper stage and upper part configuration. ![]() Given the structural characteristics of the main stage, when the tanks are empty they have to be pressurised to prevent them buckling under their own weight. The tanks are only a few millimetres thick: 1.3 mm for the hydrogen and 4.7 mm for the oxygen. Both propellants are produced at plants located inside Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. The upper compartment contains 133 tonnes of liquid oxygen and has a capacity of 120 m3, while the lower compartment contains 26 tonnes of liquid hydrogen and has a capacity of 390 m3. You can purchase this coffee this weekend at our Oxnard location and you can purchase Casa Agria’s Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout in cans by clicking here or visiting their brewery. The EPC is essentially composed of an aluminium tank with two compartments: one for liquid oxygen and one for liquid hydrogen. We will be joining Casa Agria in donating all of the proceeds from our Black is Beautiful Cold Brew sales to the local ACLU Legal Defense Fund. It was an honor to host our friends and work on something together at our location this time! We had a blast roasting together for a few hours, sampling the initial roasts, drinking lots of coffee and sharing life together. The Burundi Busia Karehe Women’s Group coffee arrived at our roastery in Oxnard on July 2 and on July 3, Marcus and Tom from Casa Agria joined Shawn in roasting for the Black is Beautiful beer and for a very special treat, a single origin Black is Beautiful Cold Brew Coffee that is only available on tap to-go out of our Oxnard Ragamuffin location. For this particular lot of coffee, more than 200 women delivered the best cherries from the harvest to the washing station in Karehe where the coffees went through a triple-washed process. She encouraged Marcus and the Casa Agria team to use a very beautiful triple-washed bourbon coffee from the Busiga Region of the Ngozi Province in Burundi, the same province where Jeanine was born and raised. He called up the company and was introduced to the owner, Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian, the founder of JNP Coffees and the not-for-profit Burundi Friends International. The team at Casa Agria definitely put their own spin on the stout’s recipe when Marcus introduced the idea of using coffee sourced through a female and black-owned coffee importer JNP Coffees. This beer is so special because it was designed to be an initiative where brewers from all over the world could collaborate in order to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face on a daily basis. We were excited to join the cause with Casa Agria and 1,000+ other breweries. This beer is so special because it was designed to be an initiative where brewers from all over the world could collaborate in order to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face on a daily basis. They shared with us how they are brewing their version of a beer recipe designed by their friends brewery in San Antonio, Texas, Weathered Souls called Black is Beautiful. We are excited to share this special collaboration project with you!Ī few week’s ago we were contacted by our friend’s at Casa Agria Specialty Ales (located in Oxnard, CA) to see if we would be interested in collaborating with them on a very special imperial stout. ![]() Pictured left to right ( Marcus Mac & Thom Cunningham from Casa Agria Specialty Ales, and Shawn Pritchett from Ragamuffin Roasters). ![]()
